Mania Belgium takes the new name Ucamco. The new name is marked by a new website www.ucamco.com and a new corporate identity.
Ucamco, based in Gent, Belgium, has been developing advanced PCB laser-photoplotting technologies and productivity-enhancing CAM software uninterruptedly since 1983. In 1998 it cemented its commitment to the US market when it acquired the PCB division of Gerber Scientific. In 2002 it was taken over by Mania Technologie AG, and it operated under the name Mania Belgium instead of Barco ETS. In August 2008 the Gent operation was one of the financially sound divisions of Mania Technologie AG bought from the administrators by the ESO Capital Group. It now continues under the new name Ucamco
With its financial base now secured the company is in a stronger position than ever to develop the break-through technological solutions needed by PCB fabricators to engineer and image HDI, flex and hybrid circuitry.
Since the buy-out the new company has made agreements with agents and distributors to handle their products throughout Europe, America and Asia-Pacific. Customers have access to local sales and support organisations with the knowledge and resources to tailor cutting-edge engineering and imaging solutions to meet their precise requirements.
A new look website www.ucamco.com has full information on the new company, on the global sales and support network and on the latest product releases. These include the calibr8tor nano photoplotter capable of imaging features down to 4 microns, and the SmartPlate software designed to increase plating reliability and cut copper and electricity costs.
Managing Director Karel Tavernier, who has been with the company since its inception, explains the new name and corporate logo: “We looked for a name which encapsulates our core competencies. UCAM is known around the world as our leading software product while the laser symbol reflects our expertise in engineering precision photoplotting solutions.”
